More details on the community monitoring project here: https://haidagwaiitoads.weebly.com/
Everyone of all ages is welcome, except no dogs sorry (would disrupt the toads).
Before you come, please set up an iNaturalist account and “join” our iNat project. Instructions here: https://haidagwaiitoads.weebly.com/…/inaturalist_guide… If you have a smartphone, please download the free iNaturalist app to your phone.
iNaturalist also works on your computer, so if you don’t have a smartphone, you can do the survey on paper and upload the results when you get back. We will provide survey sheets. The iNaturalist app works without cell signal and the app will upload your observation once you’re back in service.
Volunteers will be trained in survey techniques and in amphibian identification (guide here: https://haidagwaiitoads.weebly.com/…/amphibian_key…)
Please bring boots you can get wet, warm and waterproof clothes, water and food. Light snacks will be provided.
There will be safe parking off the side of the road. People are encouraged to carpool from Masset for those who are comfortable. Feel free to post in the event about rides.
Any questions, please email: haidagwaiitoads@gmail.com
Will happen rain or shine.
