I am travelling solo to the Haida Gwaii for the month of of September.  I have wanted to come here for years and now I have the airmiles to do so!  I am a writer as well as a walker and am keen to see natural places and meet some folk living on the islands. 

I am interested in one of the following:

1) exchanging accommodation with someone in Haida Gwaii with my furnished place in Burnaby, B.C. for the month of September.

2) finding cheap, clean and friendly accommodation in Haida Gwaii. I would like to find a place for 1 or 2 nights first in Skidegate (where I fly into on September 2) and then perhaps find a different hostel(s) or b and b(s) in other places on the island as I walk about.

3) I also would like to know if there is any festivals or events open to the public in the month of September.
