The annual Coho Derby hosted by the Sandspit Rod and Gun Club, has been a popular event in Sandspit for over 60 years. It is held for four consecutive weekends ending on Thanksgiving Day weekend. The derby attracts residents and many off island fishers. $25 entry fee, 15 and under are free.
