Girls’ Hiking Club – Summer 2025 ????
For Grade 7–9 girls who want to get outside, explore Haida Gwaii, and connect with nature and each other, join us for a few summer hikes, all free and supported by a caring adult volunteers.
This isn’t a work program or school group, just something I’m offering after hearing from youth who want to hike but might not have a ride or someone to go with. No experience needed. Just bring water, snacks, and a sense of adventure!
???? Tentative Hike Dates:
Sunday, June 29 – Tarundl & Honna Loops (Chocolate lilies blooming! Forest and beach sections, boots welcome but not required). Thanks to Jenny and Duncan White to will join and lead the adventures.
Sunday, July 20 – Spirit Lake Blue Loop + museum stop (approx. 5km, runners or good walking shoes).
Sunday, July 27 – Pesuta Trail for Tlell Day (good shoes required, optional Scotch broom pulling + visits to local Tlell shops)
Monday, August 18 – Anvil or Dover Trail – a longer hike adventure to Sandspit or Tlell. Time for fun in the forest!
Sunday, August 24 – Sleeping Beauty Trail (tentative, aiming for a sunny day to take in the views of the inlet and West Coast from the top)
???? You don’t need to join every hike — come for the ones that work for you
???? Pick-up/drop-off available in Skidegate and Daajing Giids
???? We’ll have a SPOT device, basic first aid, and we’ll go over AdventureSmart trip planning together + include fun games and relaxed environment – no expertise needed.
???? Max 4 youth per hike (unless other trusted drivers join)
