ABOUT THE EVENT
The Sandspit Wild Harvest Festival, created in 2015, is a local, grassroots Festival focused on the sharing of knowledge about the harvesting and varied uses of all things wild.
Even the most novice of foragers can learn about respectful harvesting of wild edibles, but also about medicinal plants, about hunting or fishing, or other uses of what surrounds us and is readily available to all.
We are fortunate to live in a place where harvesting of wild plants, animals, marine life etc. is quite common, and practiced by many and with respect to local cultural traditions, wildlife, plantlife and the environment at large, to preserve and protect this invaluable heritage for the future generations.
We would like to see more people foraging, getting interested in their environment and the nature that surrounds us. This Festival is here to promote a healthy, clean environment for all.
Through discussions, talks, presentations, workshops and outdoor activities, the Sandspit Wild Harvest Festival brings people together and out into the wild.
Come and participate in this year’s Sandspit Wild Harvest Festival.
